Did you see our Centenary Exhibition in the autumn?

TELL US WHAT YOU THOUGHT! As you might remember, an award from The National Lottery Heritage Fund allowed us to create an ambitious history project to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of musical theatre in Shrewsbury. Part of the project involved the creation of an exhibition at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery in the autumn of 2023. It was a tribute to the rich artistic contributions of SMTC in Shrewsbury, featuring a captivating display of precious memorabilia, some of which dated back to our very first production, The Gondoliers, in 1923. Additionally, we offered visitors a short film of oral-history interview snippets, sharing unique spoken memories from both past and current members of the group.The two month exhibition invited visitors to delve into SMTC’s vibrant history for a glimpse of some the magic we have woven into the arts in Shrewsbury over the last century. Naturally, as with any Lottery funding, a full evaluation of the project is required. We’d love to make use of feedback from those who attended, so if you saw the exhibition and can spare a few minutes to answer the following questions, it would be extremely helpful. It also helps us, as an organisation, to determine what worked well and where improvements could be made if we were to conduct a similar project in the future. Thank you!
