SMTC News
Shrewsbury Musical Theatre Company are delighted to announce part of its team for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Crayg Wellbeloved, a longstanding member and performer is very excited to take on the challenge of his first Directorial role with the company, we are sure that Crayg will use all of his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to head up what is going to a really exciting production, our current School of Rock Director Jo Young will be supporting him in the role of assistant allowing her to have a well earned break.
We are also pleased to announce that Brandon Corfield has once again agreed to be the shows Musical Director following on from many successful productions in this role with SMTC in the past, we are sure that Brandon and Crayg will make a fantastic team and we look forward to working with them.
There is still plenty of time to register an interest in this production, for those concerned there is plenty of opportunity for ensemble singers and dancers in this show and we plan to hold a pre show information session in December.
With Sadness
It is with a very heavy heart that we have some news that a couple of our longstanding members have sadly passed away Margaret Macintosh (Gittins), was in many SAOS shows a lovely lady and fantastic dancer. Anne Nicol recently passed after brave battle to be reunited with her dear Richard. She had an illustrious history with the society, playing many lead roles and supporting the group in so many ways including hand drawing many of the programme covers over the years, a genuine and special lady.
Both will be sadly missed by the society and our thoughts go out to their families and close friends.
